Jimmy Kimmel makes Stephen Colbert shave his beard during glorious late night return

It’s been a few months now since Stephen Colbert’s finale Late Show episode, and he’s used the summer since to 1. write a movie, and 2. grow a beard.

In his late night return interview above on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host talks to him about both those things — before suggesting he shave one of them off.

It’s an entertaining 20-minute segment featuring anecdotes about a wedding Colbert and Kimmel attended (including a red wine spillage that occurred over Colbert’s tan suit), and the former Late Show host being pulled over by a friendly officer in New Zealand for speeding (a conversation he recreates with the help of his own son John, who calls into the show to roleplay the incident).
