During promotional interviews for Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali and celebrated writer/director Bassam Tariq have shared how this fantastic film rose from the ashes of the MCU’s fumbled Blade reboot.

In this interview with Mashable Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko, Ali and Tariq discussed how they met through the Blade project and found a deeper connection that led them to collaborate on Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother. This not only allowed Ali to employ the physical training he’d begun for Blade, but also to take on a leading man role that gave him space to explore.
