Ford SYNC 3

Ford SYNC 3

Ford is unveiling some great updates to SYNC 3, its latest in-vehicle system – so its millions of global consumers can stay connected behind the wheel and even away from their cars.

SYNC 3-equipped Ford vehicles will now provide owners more choice in how they access their smartphones with a more personalized app experience available through AppLink and the opportunity to activate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Apple CarPlay seamlessly integrates an iPhone with the car’s built-in display and controls and makes it easy to make phone calls, access your music, send and receive messages and get directions without touching the phone while driving.

Android smartphone users are able to bring their smartphone experience into their vehicle through personal apps and direct access to Google Maps while driving. The phone screen is projected on the touch screen, offering seamless integration of smartphone into car.

Ford will make Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available on all 2017 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 starting with the all new Escape available this spring in North America.

And Ford is taking the in-car app experience to a more personal and customized level. This year, the first apps using vehicle information such as GPS location and mileage will be available through AppLink including apps for AAA and Concur.
