Who took home an Emmy? The full winners list.

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards is underway tonight, honouring some of television’s biggest stars and most talked-about shows from the past year.

Going into the night, The Pitt has plenty of chances to add to its trophy collection with an impressive 25 nominations across both tonight’s ceremony and the Emmy awards presented earlier this month. The medical drama’s nominations include Outstanding Drama Series, a lead acting nod for Noah Wyle, and enough supporting cast recognition to keep the hospital busy.

Close behind is Hacks, whose 24 nominations set a new single-year record for a comedy. Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder are both back in contention, with the series also competing for Outstanding Comedy Series, writing, and directing.

Of course, neither show has a clear path to the evening’s biggest prizes. The Pitt faces drama series competition from Pluribus, The Gilded Age, and Slow Horses, among others. Meanwhile, Hacks is up against a comedy lineup that includes The Bear, Shrinking, and newcomer Widow’s Bay.

The limited or anthology series race is another one to watch, with All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Beef, DTF St. Louis, and Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette competing for the trophy.
